Teachers can now take Attendance in Google Meet when Teaching Online

Google Meet one of the tools that is used widely for online learning. When a teacher organizes a class it helps to have an attendance log.

Here are a few Google Chrome Extensions which can help you do the attendance task with ease.

Meet Attendance

This extension has more than 5 lakh users.

Collect attendance in a
Google Sheet from a Google Meet.

When in Meet select to view the people. Accept the permissions the first time. Close and reopen the people to capture attendance for the first time. Click the Attendance icon to open the Attendance Spreadsheet. Right click for further options, Add a timestamped sheet in the set Spreadsheet, Create a new Spreadsheet, Turn Attendance collection off, Send feedback, Reset the extension.

Google Meet Attendance

This is a relatively new extension with 5000 users. Requires Google Meet Grid View  Extension to show everyone on screen to capture the attendance. This extension is developed by a teacher based in Canada. He also has a dedicated facebook page for the extension

As you start your Meet, you can enter a list of expected invitees and the extension will automatically detect who joined the call and how long they stayed.. You can save multiple class lists (which are shared to all of your devices).
